“당신 안에 성령님이 계신다는 증거”

“그러나 하나님께서 세상의 미련한 것들을 택하사 지혜 있는 자들을 부끄럽게 하려 하시고 세상의 약한 것들을 택하사 강한 것들을 부끄럽게 하려 하시며 하나님께서 세상의 천한 것들과 멸시 받는 것들과 없는 것들을 택하사 있는 것들을 폐하려 하시나니 이는 아무 육체라도 하나님 앞에서 자랑하지 못하게 하려 하심이라” (고린도전서 1:27-29)

사람을 향한 하나님의 방식은 세상의 방식과 다르다.
하나님은 겸손한 자를 높이시지만, 세상은 교만한 자를 높인다.
하나님은 섬기는 자를 위대하다 하시지만, 세상은 지배하는 자를 위대하다 한다.
하나님은 은밀하게 행해지는 조용한 일들을 귀하게 여기시나, 세상은 떠들썩한 선행을 귀하게 여긴다.
하나님은 스스로의 부족을 깨닫고 회개하는 자들을 눈여겨보시지만, 세상은 잘생기고 재능 있으며 명석한 사람들을 높게 평가한다.
하나님은 고아와 뒤처진 자들에게 관심을 갖고 돌보시지만, 세상은 앞서가는 자에게만 관심을 갖는다.

그러므로
그 안에 하나님의 영인 성령이 거하시는 성도는 그리스도의 눈과 심장을 갖게 된다.
그들의 눈이 머무는 곳은 세상의 화려함이 아닌 낮은 곳이고,
그들의 심장은 고통당하는 자들을 보며 아픔을 느끼며 은밀한 선행에 감동한다.

예수님의 제자 된 성도는 세상에서 낯선 자들이다.
세상과는 전혀 다른 방식으로 살아가기 때문이다.
그러나 그들은 외로움을 개의치 않고 소망 중에 살아간다.
그리스도 예수께서 베푸시는 영원한 위로와 칭찬을 바라보기 때문이다.

Proof that the Holy Spirit dwells within you

“But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak
things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the
despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no
one may boast before him.” (1 Corinthians 1:27-29).

God’s standards for people differ from worldly standards. God exalts the humble, but
the world exalts the proud. God considers those who serve great, but the world considers
those who dominate others great. God values quiet deeds done in secret, but the world
values public displays of goodness. God honors those who humble themselves and
repent, but the world lifts up the good-looking, talented, and brilliant. God cares for
orphans and those who are vulnerable, but the world only favors those who get ahead.

The Holy Spirit dwells in believers. Therefore, we have the eyes and heart of Christ. Our
eyes are not distracted by the world’s glamour. Instead, we sympathize with those who
suffer, and our hearts are moved to serve others.

As disciples of Christ, we are strangers in this world since we live by different standards.
Yet, we are unfazed by loneliness and live with hope, for we look forward to the eternal
comfort and honor that Jesus will give us.
