“주의 말씀은 내 발에 등이요 내 길에 빛이니이다”

모든 자동차에는 low beam과 high beam이 있다
Low beam은 바로 앞을 보기 위한 것이고
high beam은 멀리 있는 것을 보기 위함이다.

하나님의 말씀은 이와 같이 우리의 길을 비춘다.
때때로 한 걸음 한 걸음 우리를 인도한다.
그러므로 무엇을 하여야 할지 모른다면 성경을 읽으며 그것이 지시하는 대로 살면 된다.

내 목회가 그랬다.
당장 무엇을 하여야 할지 모를 때 성경을 읽고 묵상하는 중에 어른이 별로 없다면 지금 주어진 아이들을 위하여 무엇인가를 하라고 지시하였다.
그래서 아이들 사역부터 시작하였다.
그리고 34년이 지난 지금 우리 교회는 교육하는 교회라는 별명이 생길 정도로 은혜가 부어졌다.

또한 하나님의 말씀은 멀리 보며 소망을 갖게 한다.
보이지는 않지만 믿음을 갖고 살면 그것이 실상으로 나타난다고 소망을 주었다.
그래서 앞날을 머릿속에 그림 같이 그리며 믿음으로 살아왔다.
그 결과 그림으로 그린 것들이 다 이루어지는 것을 보고 있다.

앞날이 걱정된다면 성경을 읽고 묵상하라.
성경은 우리의 길에 low beam이고 또한high beam이다.

“The Word of God is a lamp to my feet, a light to my path”

Every car has high beam and low beam lights.
Low beam headlights are used to illuminate things that are closer,
And high beam lights are used to see further ahead.
This is how God’s Word illuminates our path.
At times, His Word guides us each step of the way.
So, if we do not know what to do, we should read the Bible and follow His directions.
This is how I did my ministry.
When I did not know what I needed to do, I was instructed while meditating on the Word to reach out to children first and then the adults.
And so, I started with children’s ministry.
Now, 34 years later, our church has been blessed to be known as the educational church.
Not only that, but God’s Word gives us hope for the far future.
The Word of God gives us hope that our faith will come to fruition, even though we believe in what we cannot see.
I’ve held onto this faith as I pictured the future in my head.
As a result, all the things that I had imagined for the future became a reality.
If you’re worried about the future, read the Word and meditate on it.
The Bible is the high beam and low beam headlights of our lives.
