“기도”

기도가 없었다면
나는 험난한 인생을 살아갈 수 없었을 것이다.
무엇을 해야 할지 모를 때 물을 곳이 없었을 것이고
길이 막혔을 때 지혜를 얻을 수 없었을 것이고
감당할 수 없는 일을 만났을 때 해결할 수 없었을 것이다.
그리고 무엇인가 필요할 때 그것을 공급받을 수 없었을 것이다.
그러나 기도할 수 있어서 인생을 자신 있게 살아갈 수 있었다.
기도하면
무엇을 해야 할지 모를 때 떠오르는 것이 있었다.
길이 막혔을 때 피해 갈 방법이 주어졌다.
감당할 수 없는 일을 만났을 때 기적이 일어났다.
필요를 구할 때 언제나 채워지는 은혜가 있었다.
하여
기도는 나의 상담소이고
지도이고
피난처이고
보화 창고다.
기도할 때마다 기도의 특권을 주신 예수님께 오늘도 감사하며 머리 숙인다.

Prayer
Without prayer,
I would not have been able to live through this difficult life.
I would not have had anywhere to turn to when I needed help.
I would not have been able to receive wisdom when the roads were blocked.
I would not have been able to handle any of the problems that were too difficult to manage.
And I would not have received what I needed.
But I was able to live with confidence because I could pray.
When I pray,
An idea would come to mind when I did not know what to do.
I was given a way out when the path was blocked.
A miracle happened when something unmanageable happened.
And my needs were always filled when I asked.
Thus, to me,
Prayer is a place of counsel, my guide, my refuge, my treasure vault.
I bow my head before the Lord today as well in thanksgiving for the privilege of prayer.
