“성경을 생각하면 다음과 같은 목회 33년의 고백이 나온다”

성경이 없었다면 나의 목회 생활은 지옥이었을 것이다. 무엇을 어떻게 해야 할지 몰랐기 때문이다.

성경이 없었다면 내가 경험한 기적도 없었을 것이다. 내 힘으론 일을 이룰 수 있는 것이 하나도 없었기 때문이다.

성경이 없었다면 나는 벌써 목회를 그만두었을 것이다. 지도 없이 어둠 속에서 길을 찾는 것과 같았을 것이기 때문이다.

성경이 있었기에 어려움 중에도 목회는 천국이었고 소망이었다.

무엇을 해야 할지 모를 때 성경을 피면 할 일을 가르쳐 주었고, 그대로 하니 놀라운 길이 열렸다.

내 힘으로 할 수 없는 일을 만났을 때 성경을 피면 그것을 이룰 수 있는 길을 보여 주었다. 그리고 그대로 하니 날마다의 삶이 기적이 되었다.

일을 당하여 길을 잃었을 때 성경을 피면 길을 찾게 되었다. 성경을 피고 읽을 때 언제나 그것을 해결할 길을 보여주셨다.

그러므로 성경이 없었다면 내 지금의 목회는 없다.

지금의 나도 없다.

그러나 성경이 있기에 앞날도 걱정 없다.

나에게 인생 최고의 보물인 성경을 주신 하나님께 감사한다.

When I think about the Bible, this is my confession after 33 years of ministry.

Without the Bible, my life in ministry would have felt like hell because I would not have known what to do or how to do anything. Without the Bible, I would not have been able to experience any miracles because there is nothing I can do on my own. Without the Bible, I would have quit doing ministry, for it would be like wandering in the dark without a map to guide me.

Because of the Bible, I had hope as I served. And even in the midst of difficulties, doing ministry felt like heaven. When I opened the Bible because I did not know what to do, the Bible would teach me what I should do. And when I followed the Word, the path would open up in amazing ways. When I opened the Bible every time there was something I could not do, I was shown a way to accomplish it. And when I obeyed the Word, each day of my life became a miracle.
If I lost the way because of a hardship, the Bible would direct me in the right way.
Whenever I read the Bible, God would show me how to resolve all my problems.
So, without the Bible, my ministry would not exist today.
And the person I am today would not exist.
But because of the Bible, there is no reason to worry about the future either.
I give thanks to God who has given me life’s most priceless treasure, the Bible.
