“기도의 능력”

많은 사람들이 기도의 능력을 갑작스러운 기적이 일어나는 것으로 상상한다.
그래서 기도하고서는 그런 변화가 없음을 보며 실망할 때가 있다.
그러나 기도의 능력은 서서히 소리 없이 나타날 때가 많다.
하루하루 목적을 갖고 기도할 때 그 기도 소리가 그냥 사라지는 것처럼 느껴진다.
하나님이 듣고 계시다는 느낌도 없다.
그냥 혼자 중얼거리는 것처럼 느껴진다.
그런데 시간이 지나다 보면 서서히 그 기도가 이루어지는 것을 본다.
그 처음은 아주 작은 것으로부터 시작된다.
그래서 기도의 응답이라는 것을 느끼지 못한다.
그러나 그것이 점점 삶을 변화시키는 큰 바람이 되면 드디어 느끼게 된다.
아 기도가 응답되었구나!
하여 오늘도 기도한다.
이 기도도 역시 어느 날 돌풍을 몰고 올 바람이 될 것을 믿으며…
때를 얻든지 못 얻든지 기도하자!
삶에 조용한 혁명을 기대하며…

“The Power of Prayer”

Many people think that the power of prayer is manifested through unexpected miracles. And so, they become disappointed when there are no sudden drastic changes after prayer. However, the power of prayer is often exhibited gradually and silently. Our daily prayer for a specific topic might seem to disappear into thin air.
And it might not even feel like God is listening. Actually, it might seem as if we are just talking to ourselves. But with time, we will see our prayers gradually being answered. It begins with something very small. So, we might not even realize that our prayers have been answered. But if that becomes like a great wind that progressively transforms our lives, we will finally know that our prayers have been answered.

Therefore, we pray today again. Let us trust that the prayer we pray today will one day bring about a gust of wind! Let us pray in and out of season with great expectations for a quiet transformation in our lives.
