사도 바울을 생각하며…

그가 있었던 곳은 감옥
그를 따르던 자들은 다 자기 길로 갔고
대화할 상대도 없이 적들에 둘러싸여 있었다
밖에서는 그의 선교지를 빼앗기 위해 그리스도를 전하는 자들의 소식이 들려왔고
그의 몸은 병들어 있었다.
그는 그런 외로운 처지를 어떻게 견디어 냈을까?
그는 두루마리 성경을 디모데에게 부탁했고 그것을 위로로 삼았다.
기도 중에 예수님이 그의 곁에서 힘을 주셨다.
그리고 그는 자기의 사명의 길을 온전히 갈 수 있었다.

그대, 외로운가?
사랑하는 자들이 떠났는가?
적들에 의해 둘러싸여 있는가?
안 좋은 소식만 들려오는가?
몸이 병들었는가?
그렇다면 성경을 펴고 읽으라
그리고 기도하라
주께서 당신 곁에서 힘을 주시리!
그리고 당신은 사명의 길을 온전히 가게 되리라

“As I think about Apostle Paul…”
His dwelling place was a prison.
Those who followed him all went their own ways.
He had nobody to talk to, for he was surrounded by enemies.
Outside the prison walls, Christians spread the gospel to take over his ministry.
And his body was failing with illness.
How was he able to endure this dire situation?
He asked Timothy for Scripture scrolls and found comfort in the Word of God.
When he prayed, Jesus was by his side, strengthening him.
This is how he was able to continue to fulfill his calling until the end.
Are you lonely? Did you lose your loved ones?
Are you surrounded by enemies?
Have there only been bad news lately?
Are you not feeling well?
Then open the Bible and read the Word of God.
And pray.
The Lord will stand by your side and give you strength!
And you will be able to fulfill your calling
