제 6회 목회자 제자 훈련 세미나에 참석한 런던 호산나 교회 황건희 목사님의 간증

2025년 2월 제3회 목회자 멘토링 세미나를 통해 제자 훈련의 중요성과 제자 훈련이 성경적 방법이라는 것을 다시 한번 확인하였습니다. 그리고 이번 6회 제자 훈련 세미나를 통해 제자를 가르쳐야 함을 다시 한번 확인하는 시간이 되었습니다.

2017년 교회를 개척하기 전 저는 하나님께 이렇게 기도했습니다.
“21세기에 왜 또 다른 교회가 필요합니까?” 저는 이런 기도의 제목으로 전도와 선교를 하여 학습과 세례를 줌으로 교회를 세워갔습니다. 그래서 저는 지난 9년 동안 교회가 학습과 세례를 베풀기 위해 열심히 전도하였습니다. 하지만 점점 지쳐가는 저의 모습을 보게 되었습니다.

그리고 제자 훈련 세미나를 통해 한 가지 큰 깨달음을 받게 되었습니다. 이 깨달음으로 인해 저는 교회 옆 어느 길거리에서 눈물을 흘렸습니다. 이 눈물은 회개의 눈물이었습니다. 이 눈물은 지금까지 저의 잘못이 뭔지도 모르고 있다가 이제서야 알게 된 회개의 눈물이었습니다.
제가 깨달은 것은 저는 하나님이 원하시는 사역과 교회를 세워가는 것이 아니라 내가 원하는 사역과 교회를 세워가고 있었다는 것입니다. 저는 주의 일을 한 것이 아니라, 나의 일을 하는 목사였을 뿐이었습니다.

저의 두 눈에서 흐른 눈물 뒤에는 하나님께서 주실 것에 대한 기대가 가득했습니다. 그리고 제자를 세우기 위해 내가 먼저 제자가 되고, 양육을 받고, 양육 받은 대로 제자를 삼아야겠다는 사명이 불타올랐습니다.

이제 저의 사역지로 돌아가서 제자를 양육하기 위해 교회 사역들의 가지치기를 할 것이고, 제자를 양육하기 위해 더 많은 시간을 들여 준비할 것입니다. 또한 저도 주님의 제자가 되어갈 것입니다. 더욱 성장하는 제자가 되어져 갈 것입니다.

아울러 제자 양육 사역을 이민 1.5, 2세대 자녀들에게도 적용하며 그대로 가르쳐 제자를 양육해야 한다는 강한 도전을 받았습니다. 저의 기도 제목은 영국에서 EM 제자 양육 사역을 시작하는 것입니다. 이종식 목사님과 베이사이드장로교회 그리고 이은혜 전도사님께서 선교적 헌신으로 함께 할 수 있으면 감사하겠습니다.

주님께서 주실 은혜와 세워져 가는 제자들로 인해 복음이 온 세상 가운데 펴져나가고 주님의 사역이 더 크게, 더 은혜롭게, 더 활발히 일어날 것을 기대하며 기도합니다.

지난 3박 4일 동안 혼신을 다해 강의해 주시고, 섬겨주신 이종식 목사님과 성도님들께 감사드립니다. 여러분들의 헌신이 주 안에서 헛되지 않을 것입니다. 주님의 이름으로 축복합니다.

New York Light 6th Pastoral Discipleship Training Seminar testimony of a pastor from London:

After I attended the 3rd pastoral mentoring seminar back in February of this year, I
realized the importance of discipleship training. Then, through this discipleship training seminar, I realized once again the necessity of making disciples.

Before I founded the church in London in 2017, I prayed, “Lord, there is still a need for another church in the 21st century.” As I prayed this, I spent the last 9 years building the church by focusing on evangelism, missions, teaching the Word, and baptism. But I found myself gradually getting exhausted. Then, through the discipleship training seminar, I was encouraged once again. The conviction I received through the seminar was so great that I shed tears of repentance. For the first time, I realized that my focus had been on establishing the church that I wanted, not what God desired. As a pastor, I had been doing my work, not God’s work. After the tears flowed from my eyes, I was overcome with great expectation of what the Lord would do. And His calling for me rekindled within me. I must first become a true disciple myself and then strive to make disciples.

As I return to my ministry, I will prune the church ministries and nurture disciples. I
will dedicate more time to discipleship training. Furthermore, I will make every effort to become a better disciple of God. I hope to grow in Him more. One of the strongest
convictions I received through this seminar is that I must extend the discipleship
training to the next generation. In that way, I would be able to raise them into disciples as well. My prayer is to start an English ministry discipleship training program in the UK. I would all the more be grateful if Reverend Chong Shik Lee and Pastor Ruth (전도사) could join efforts with me in doing this missionary work.

I pray with anticipation that the gospel would spread into the world through the
disciples that we train. And by God’s grace, may the Lord’s ministry of making disciples actively take place.

I thank Reverend Lee and the church members who poured their hearts into this
seminar. Thank you for teaching and serving me and the pastors for 3 nights and 4 days.
