“제6회 목회자 제자 훈련 세미나에 참석한 스코틀랜드 Holy Ground Church 김폴 목사님의 간증”

할렐루야! 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 큰 은혜가 베이사이드장로교회 모든 성도분들께 가득하길 축복합니다. 지난 런던 멘토링 세미나 가운데 큰 은혜를 받고 또 이번 뉴욕 목회자 제자 훈련에서 큰 은혜 받게 하신 하나님께 큰 감사를 드립니다.

제자 훈련은 예수님께서 우리에게 주신 지상 명령입니다. 이 명령은 반드시 지켜야 하는 우리 구주 예수님께서 친히 우리에게 주신 것입니다. 성도는 물론 목회자는 더욱 이 명령을 지켜야 하는데 어떻게 지켜야 할지 정확한 방향과 방법을 알지 못했음을 고백합니다.

지난 런던 세미나와 이번 뉴욕 세미나를 통해 그 방법과 방향을 알게 하신 하나님의 크신 은혜와 인도하심에 큰 감사를 드립니다. 아직은 제자 훈련을 지도하기에는 많이 부족하지만, 우리와 함께하시는 하나님을 의지하며, 스코틀랜드로 돌아가 바로 제자 훈련을 시작할 계획입니다.

스코틀랜드의 9,000명 인구가 거주하는 아주 작은 마을 Stranraer 지역의 Holy Ground 교회 가운데 일하시고 역사하실 하나님을 믿고 의지합니다. 제자 훈련을 기점으로 30여 명의 성도들이 변화되고 제자가 되어, 온 지역을 밝히고 복음화시키며, 그리스도의 영광으로 가득 채우길 기쁘고 벅찬 마음으로 소망합니다.

우리 베이사이드장로교회의 모든 성도분들과, 담임목사님께 형용할 길 없는 큰 은혜를 입고 사랑을 받았습니다. 제가 무엇이라고, 한없이 부족하고 연약한 자에게, 하나님께서 베이사이드장로교회를 통해, 큰 사랑을 받게 하시는지, 이 감사한 마음을 다 표현할 길이 없습니다.

이번 세미나에 참석한 우리 모두를 위해, 운전을 해주시고, 미디어 봉사를 해주시고, 곳곳에서 세심히 살피시며 늘 곁에 계셨던 모든 성도님들, 특히 키친에서 최고의 음식을 가장 큰 사랑으로 준비해 주시고 베풀어 주신 모든 성도님들, 스코틀랜드는 물론 한국에서도 먹어 보지 못한 귀하고 맛있는 음식들을 대접해 주신 많은 성도님들, 그리고 지난 런던 멘토링 세미나 때 대상포진을 앓으시며 강의를 끝까지 해주시고, 이번에도 그 이상의 열정으로, 사명으로, 그리고 사랑으로 제자 만들어 주시는 담임목사님께 진심으로 감사드립니다.

복음에 빚진 자, 선한 부담감을 안고 돌아갑니다. 받은 사랑과, 가르침을 늘 기억하며, 하나님께 부끄럽지 않은 종이 되도록 늘 깨어 힘쓰겠습니다. 담임목사님 그리고 베이사이드장로교회의 모든 성도분들께 진심으로 감사드립니다. 주님 안에서 사랑합니다. 주님 안에서 진심으로 축복합니다. 모든 영광 하나님께!

Testimony of a pastor from Scotland who attended the New York Light 6 th
Pastoral Discipleship Training Seminar:

Hallelujah! I pray that the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ may fill all the
congregants of The Korean Presbyterian Church of Bayside! I am grateful to
God for the many blessings I received at the past London Pastoral
Mentoring Seminar and here at this year’s New York Pastors’ Discipleship
Training Seminar. Discipleship training is the Great Commission of Jesus.
This command is one that our Savior Jesus Christ personally gave us. So,
we must obey. Not only is it a requirement for believers, but it is especially
a command pastors must obey. But to be honest, I did not know how to
follow this command. But by God’s grace, through the mentoring seminar
and this discipleship training seminar, the Lord guided and taught me how
to carry out His command. Although I am still inadequate in many ways, I
will rely on the Lord who is with me and start a discipleship training class
as soon as I return home to Scotland. I trust in God who will continue to
work in my church, the Holy Ground Church, which is in Stranraer—a very
small village in Scotland with a population of just 9,000. I hope with joy
and anticipation that the 30 members of my church will be transformed
and become disciples of Christ through discipleship training. I pray that
they will become the light in the community, spread the Word wherever
they go and fill the region with the glory of Christ.
I have been inexpressibly blessed and loved by all the congregants of the
Korean Presbyterian Church of Bayside and Pastor Chong Shik Lee. I
cannot express my grateful heart enough to the church for showing so much
love to someone so inadequate and insignificant. My gratitude goes out to
all the church members who served me and the pastors by providing
transportation, administrative work, and even the media department. They
were always by our side, taking care of our every need. And I especially
thank those who prepared and served us food. With the greatest love, they
served us the best food—delicious, amazing food that I have not eaten in
Scotland or even Korea. And I thank Senior Pastor Lee for leading this
seminar. Last time in London during the mentoring seminar, he continued
the lectures even when he had shingles. And this time, he led the seminar

With even greater passion, mission, and love in hopes that we would
become better disciples.
As I return home to Scotland, I leave with an indebted heart to the Gospel,
which is a good burden. I will always remember the love and teachings I
have received through the seminar. And I strive to be vigilant so that I
could be a servant of God of whom He is not ashamed. I once again
sincerely thank Senior Pastor Lee and all the congregants of the Korean
Presbyterian Church of Bayside. I love you in the Lord! I sincerely bless you
in the Lord! All glory to God!
