올바른 아이로 키우는 부모의 역할 (인터넷에서 좋은 글을 찾게 되어 기독교인에게 맞게 수정한 글입니다. )

어린이를 신앙 안에서 착하고 도덕적으로 성숙한 하나님의 사람으로 키우는 것은 부모나 보호자에게 부여된 중요한 임무 중 하나입니다. 어린이의 양육은 그들의 미래와 사회에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 중요한 역할을 합니다. 따라서 어린이에게 선의로 가득 차 있고, 다른 사람을 존중하며, 믿음 안에서 긍정적인 가치를 가진 착한 아이로 성장시키는 것은 아주 중요한 과정입니다. 이런 아이를 만들기 위한 5가지 효과적인 방법에 대해 알아보겠습니다. 부모는 다음과 같은 방법들을 적용하여 신앙 안에서 어린이의 도덕적 가치, 사회적 기술, 그리고 자아존중감을 키울 수 있습니다.
1. 신앙적으로 모범이 되어 주세요. 부모나 보호자가 어린이의 모범이 되는 것은 그들이 세상을 어떻게 바라보는지, 어떤 가치를 중요하게 생각하는지에 큰 영향을 미칩니다. 어린이들은 주변에서 본 행동을 본뜬다는 점에서 모범이 되는 것이 중요합니다. 따라서 부모는 자신의 행동과 언행에 주의해야 합니다. 하나님을 경외하고 다른 사람을 존중하고 친절하게 대하며, 신앙 안에서 도덕적인 선택을 하는 모습을 보여주는 것이 어린이에게 도움이 됩니다. 부모가 모범이 되면 어린이는 이러한 가치를 습득하고 그것을 실제 행동으로 나타내기 쉬워집니다.
2. 의사소통을 잘하세요. 어린이와의 소통은 감정적 지능과 사회적 스킬을 개발하는 데 필수적입니다. 부모는 어린이의 감정을 듣고 이해하며, 어린이에게 자신의 감정을 표현하고 신앙적으로 문제를 해결하는 방법을 가르쳐야 합니다. 어린이가 어려움이나 스트레스를 겪을 때 부모와 솔직하게 대화할 수 있는 환경을 제공하는 것이 중요합니다. 부모의 관심과 이해는 어린이가 자신을 표현하고 무엇이 좋은 선택인지 배우는 데 도움을 줄 것입니다.
3. 규칙을 정해주세요. 규칙은 어린이에게 안정성과 안전감을 제공하고 책임감을 심어주는 데 도움이 됩니다. 부모는 가족 내에 일관 된 신앙적 규칙을 정하고 그것을 어린이에게 명확하게 설명해야 합니다. 규칙을 지키는 것이 중요한 이유를 이해하게 해줌으로써 어린이는 신앙적인 선택을 하는 법을 배우게 됩니다. 예를 들면 무엇을 하든지 왜 먼저 기도해야 하고 말씀을 묵상하는 시간을 가져야 하는지를 가르쳐야 합니다. 그리고 부모는 자녀가 이러한 규칙을 어길 때 어떤 결과가 따를 수 있는지에 대한 경고를 이야기해 줘야 합니다.
4. 인내심을 가르치세요. 어린이에게 인내심을 가르치는 것은 어려움을 이겨내고 문제를 차분하게 해결하는 데 도움을 줍니다. 어린이들은 종종 즉각적인 만족을 원하는 경향이 있으며, 이는 인내심을 배우는 것을 어렵게 만들 수 있습니다. 부모는 어린이에게 예수님을 믿는 믿음 안에서 어떤 일도 노력하고 기다린다면 어려움을 이겨내고 성취할 수 있다는 가르침을 전달해야 합니다. 예를 들어, 어린이가 무엇인가를 배울 때 실패하더라도 기도하며 포기하지 말고 계속 노력하고 개선해 나가야 함을 이해시켜야 합니다.
5. 칭찬과 격려를 아끼지 마세요. 어린이의 노력과 성과를 칭찬하고 격려하는 것은 자신감을 높이고 착한 행동을 유지하는 데 도움이 됩니다. 어린이는 긍정적인 피드백을 받으면 노력하고 더 나은 행동을 하려고 합니다. 따라서 부모는 어린이의 성과를 주목하고, 그들을 격려하고 칭찬해야 합니다. 이것은 어린이에게 자아존중감을 강화하고, 신앙적으로 믿음의 행동을 지속 할 동기를 부여하는 데 큰 역할을 합니다. 올바른 신앙 안에서 착하고 도덕적으로 성장시키는 것은 부모나 보호자에게 주어진 큰 책임 중 하나입니다.
어린이 주일을 맞아 이 5가지를 머리에 새기고 믿음 안에서 마음으로 자녀들과 소통한다면 아름다운 열매를 거두게 될 줄로 믿습니다.

“The Role of Parents in Raising a Child to be Righteous”

Raising a child in faith to become a kind and morally mature person of God is one of the important responsibilities given to parents or guardians. Child-rearing is a crucial component in shaping the future and society. Therefore, it is essential to raise children to be filled with goodness, be respectful of others, and grounded in faith-based standards. Let’s explore five effective ways that can help us nurture our children to become like this. When parents apply the following methods in faith, our children will attain an unwavering sense of moral values, develop essential social skills, and build stronger self-esteem.

1. Be a role model in faith.
As role models for children, parents and guardians greatly influence their view of the world and standards they abide by. Children tend to emulate the behavior they observe around them. So, setting a good example for them is essential. Thus, parents should be mindful of their actions and words. Demonstrating reverence for God, showing respect and kindness to others, and making decisions according to faith greatly benefit our children. When parents set a good example, it becomes easier for children to adopt those values and put them into practice in their own lives.

2. Build good rapport.
Communicating with our children is essential for their emotional and social development. Parents should listen to their children’s feelings and be understanding. At the same time, we must also teach them how to express their emotions and resolve issues according to faith. It is important to create an environment where children feel safe to speak openly, especially when they are facing challenges or stress. It will help children express themselves and learn to make wise choices when parents are understanding towards them and give them the attention they need.

3. Set clear rules.
Rules provide children stability and security and instill in them a sense of responsibility. Parents should establish faith-based rules for the family and adhere to them with consistency. These rules should be clearly explained to the children to help them understand the reason they must adhere to the rules. In this way, they can learn how to make choices in faith. For instance, parents should teach their children why it is important to pray first before doing anything and why we should set aside a time to meditate on the Word. Along with this, parents should warn them of the potential consequences if they break these rules.

4. Teach them patience.
Teaching our children patience will help them overcome difficulties and resolve issues step by step. Children often seek instant gratification, which can make it challenging for them to learn patience. Parents should teach their children that they can overcome any obstacle and achieve their goals when they persevere and work hard in faith in Jesus. For instance, we must help our children understand the importance of not giving up but continuing to pray and work hard with perseverance, even if they fail.

5. Do not hold back praise and encouragement.
When a child’s efforts and accomplishments are praised and encouraged, that helps build confidence and reinforces good behavior. When children receive positive feedback, they become more motivated to be their best. Therefore, parents should focus more on their children's achievements and encourage them accordingly. This will allow them to have more self-esteem and motivate them to continue to make faith-based choices. One of the greatest responsibilities of parents and guardians is to raise our children to become kind and righteous in faith.

This Sunday is Children’s Day in Korea. Let’s keep these five things in mind and sincerely communicate with our children in faith. Then, I believe we will bear an abundance of wonderful fruit.
