“인간의 행복의 기준은 무엇인가?”

우리의 행복의 기준은 무엇인가?
물질인가?
그렇지도 않다.
아무리 물질이 많아도 행복을 느끼지 못하는 사람도 있다.
그렇다면 명예인가?
그렇지도 않다.
아무리 유명해도 허무함에 빠져 스스로 목숨을 끊는 자도 있다
그러면 자유인가?
그렇지도 않다.
모든 것이 자유인 인간은 죄에 빠져 허덕일 때가 많다.

물질도 명예도 자유도 인간을 온전히 행복하게 할 수 없다면 무엇이 인간을 행복하게 한단 말인가?

이 나이 되도록 살아보니
나의 주권자 되신 하나님 앞에서 보람된 일을 하며 사는 것이다.
그때, 우리는 물질이 없어도
명예가 없어도
자유가 없어도 행복함을 느낀다.

그 증거로 성경을 보면 한 행복 자가 나온다.
사도바울이다.
그는 매를 맞고 감옥에 갇혀서도 기뻐한다.
그는 궁핍함에도 풍부함에도 자족한다.
그 이유는 그의 구원자 되신 예수님을 위해 보람된 일을 하고 있기 때문이다.

하여
내가 성경에서 찾은 인간의 행복은 하나님 앞에서 보람된 삶을 사는 것이라 결론짓게 된다.
행복하고 싶은가?
우리의 구원자 되신 예수님 앞에서 작게나마 값지고 보람된 일을 하라!
당신의 평생이 행복할 것이다.

“What is the standard of happiness?”

What is our standard of happiness?
Is it materialistic things?
No, not really.
No matter how much material wealth someone has, there are people who still cannot feel happiness.
Some people do not feel happy even when they have a lot of things.
Then is it fame?
No, not really.
There are those who still feel empty and end their own lives even though they are famous.
Then is it freedom?
No, not really.
Although we are free to do anything, there are times when people struggle in sin.
If material wealth, fame, or freedom does not give us complete happiness, what truly makes us happy?
Having lived to this age, I realized that true happiness is leading a meaningful life in God, my sovereign Lord.
It is then that we will feel happiness even if we do not have material wealth, fame, or freedom.
In the Bible, there is a person who was truly happy— apostle Paul.
He had joy even when he was beaten and imprisoned.
He was content in both poverty and abundance, for he did what was worthy for his savior Jesus.
Thus, after searching through the Bible, I came to the conclusion that true happiness is leading a meaningful life in the Lord.
Do you want to be happy?
Even if it may be small, do what is meaningful and worthy in Christ!
Then, your life will be filled with happiness.
