“LA 산불이 주는 경고”

지금도 LA는 불타고 있다.
계속되는 돌풍으로 점점 불은 시내로 접근하며 온 시민을 불안에 떨게 하고 있다.
벌써 15만 명이 대피를 했다고 한다.
불이 난 곳에서 비록 떨어져 있다 할지라도 공기가 나빠져 숨을 쉬기가 힘들고 일을 나갈 수 없게 되었다.

불은 가난한 집만 태우는 것이 아니고 부자들의 집도 태우고 있다.
그리고 안타깝게도 교회당도 태우고 있다
우리는 이러한 재앙을 어떻게 받아들여야 할지 생각하게 된다.

예수님은 재앙에 대하여 하나님의 경고를 말씀하셨다.
그 경고의 말씀의 요지는
일을 당한 사람들이 너희보다 죄가 많아 그렇게 되었다고 생각하지 말라
너희도 회개하지 않으면 이렇게 재앙을 만나게 될 것이라는 경고였다.

다른 사람이 당하는 재앙을 보는 성도는 하나님이 주관하시고 있음을 깨달아야 한다는 것이다
그리고 자기의 삶을 돌아보고 하나님 중심으로 살아갈 것을 다짐해야 한다는 말씀이다.

하나님은 성읍에서도 복을 받고 들에서도 복을 받게 하시는 분이다.
그러나 역시 성읍에서도 저주를 받고 들에서도 저주를 받게 하시는 분이시다.

LA 산불을 보며 하나님을 기억하고 하나님 중심으로 사는 삶을 회복하기를 바란다.
그리고 재앙을 만난 사람들의 죄를 찾기보다는 오히려 그들을 불쌍히 여기며 그들의 회복을 위하여 기도해 주는 것이 성도의 바른 자세이다.

“The admonition of the Los Angeles wildfire”

Los Angeles is still on fire. Now, strong winds are pushing the fire towards the city, causing anxiety to grow among the residents. It is reported that 150,000 people have already evacuated. Even in areas that are far from the fire, the air has become so bad that it's difficult to breathe or go to work. The wildfire burned not only the homes of the poor but also those of the wealthy. Sadly, it also burned down churches.

In the face of this, we are left to ponder how we should respond to this disaster. Jesus said that disasters are warnings from God. He admonishes us, “Do not think that those who are suffering are greater sinners than you. Unless you repent, you too will face such a disaster”. As believers, when we see others encounter tribulations, we must remember that God is in control. And we should reflect on our own lives and commit ourselves to lead God-centered lives. God is the One who blesses us both in the cities and the fields. But He is also the One who punishes us in both cities and fields.

As we think about the Los Angeles wildfire, may we once again remember the Lord and lead God-centered lives. And rather than trying to identify the sins of those who are in the midst of a disaster, we should pray with compassion for their restoration. This is the heart of a true believer.
